There has been an issue with some wild dogs attacking people and other animals in the Indianapolis area that has caused concern for many in the area.  A woman recently reported that her daughter was faced with danger from some of these dogs and her own two dogs jumped the fence in order to protect her. One of the dogs did not do well against these wild dogs and succumb to her injuries. The woman, a Ms. Spencer stated that "My daughter would have run and they would have chased her and she probably would have been attacked. She said the dogs "have been in the neighborhood all summer. I've called police a couple of times and I know others have." Her full story about this issue can be found in her own words at http://www.wthr.com/story/30511439/lawrence-woman-warns-about-pack-of-wild-dogs-in-neighborhood

It is bothersome that there can be some dogs roaming the streets, terrorizing people and their pets.  Dogs that are aggressive in this manner do so out of fear and need to be apprehended, taken to a shelter and evaluated.  They need to be removed from the streets, making the neighborhoods more secure and safe for all.

Our efforts in this petition is to ask for a full investigation into the area in question in Indianapolis to find these dogs and have them apprehended with the assistance of animal control. People should not live in fear because of a few wild stray dogs. You can help in our efforts to get justice for the people in the area by signing and sharing this petition.

Indianapolis Police Chief, Rick Hite – A Ms. Spencer has reported an issue with some wild dogs in the area and we want to ensure that you investigate this situation, get with animal control to remove these animals from the streets and bring them to a shelter for evaluation to determine their outcome.  Either way, these dogs need to be removed from the streets and the neighborhoods made safe from being terrorized and attacked.
