Each year over 700 infants suffocate to death before they are 27 days old and nobody knows why. Some of these deaths may be linked to undiagnosed Choanal atresia but we have no way of knowing due to the lack of research and awareness.
This petition is to compel Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) and Congressman Derek Kilmer (D-WA), who are the congressional representatives for Children’s Choanal Atresia Foundation, to take the necessary action to sponsor a bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide for the introduction, expansion, intensification, and coordination of the programs and activities of the National Institutes of Health with respect to choanal atresia. A greater awareness of CA and the ability to diagnose the deadly birth defect at time of birth is essential. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
