Release the Study On Chemical Tainted Water the White House Has Buried!

  • da: Kevin Mathews
  • destinatario: Scott Pruitt, EPA Chief & Alex Azar, Health and Human Services Secretary

Thanks to FOIA-obtained emails between staffers at the EPA, Politico has learned of a major government study that finds certain harmful chemicals are routinely getting into American drinking water supply. Worse still, it takes much less of this chemical exposure to cause serious health risks (like cancer and thyroid conditions) than previously believed, meaning our current regulations are inadequate at protecting our health.

Keeping this information hidden will allow our government and coorporations to avoid culpability in keeping us safe and healthy. Sign the petition to demand the study be made public!

Rather than release the study, staffers thought it would be a "public relations nightmare" and decided to bury it instead, never letting it see the light of day. That's not how responsible government officials should react, though. The EPA and Health and Human Services have an obligation to look out for the public - not just notifying us of this potential problem, but also with action to resolve the threats.

It's time the White House releases this study so we all know what's going. Pretending it doesn't exist won't save people from the health repercussions.
