Volunteer Registered Therapy dog teams across the state of Alabama are visiting children everyday in Libraries, schools, and privacy sensitive areas like our hospitals in a well behaved manner, while always respecting the people and buildings they are working in.
Our troubled and abused children in our court system don't need a stiff formally trained facility dog! They need a friend! They need comforting! They need a Therapy dog who will love them and help them through this troubling time in their life.
Legislation forcing our courts to use a stiff formal service dog from some place in California that is more interested in putting their hands in OUR tax money and entering a facility properly than comforting our most vulnerable children, instead of our own evauluated registered Therapy Dogs just doesn't make any sense.
We don't need facility dogs we need Therapy dogs! After all if Volunteer Therapy dogs in the courts can work right next door in Florida then why can't it work for us?? We are asking our Alabama legislators to Change HB460 to allow Alabama Therapy Dogs to love our kids

DON'T shut out our selfless Alabama volunteers and their Registered Therapy Dogs who understand our children in Alabama and freely provide the comfort our children need to be able to testify.
Forcing our courts to use a stiff formal service dog from some place in California that is more interested in putting their hands in OUR tax money and entering a facility properly than comforting our most vulnerable children, instead of our own evauluated registered Therapy Dogs just doesn't make any sense.
Please include our own well behaved insured registered therapy dogs and handlers from Alabama, who already go through background checks and sign confidentiality agreements at our local hospitals in your legislation.
