Sleep researchers have found that teenagers are basically unable to fall asleep before 10:45 or 11, due to the melatonin secretion that occurs then. And they basically are unable to wake up until about 8:30-9:00 in the morning. Also, all studies done that measure student performance when school starts later have found that students exceed ordinary academic and physical performance. I say that the Jefferson Parrish Public School Board push back the day to be from 9:20AM to 4:40PM.
