The city of Dehli, India has historically used waste – including plastic – to energy plants that create electricity. But when plastic is burned, it releases a torrent of pollution into the air. Partly because of this, parts of the capital city have a smog level that is five times the healthy limit. India is also one of the world's top producers of pollution. But the city of Dehli just took a remarkably positive step toward changing that by banning ALL DISPOSABLE PLASTIC! It's time for the rest of India to do the same.
The Delhi directive reads as follows:
"The National Capital Territory of Delhi shall take appropriate steps against storage, sale, and use of such plastic material at the above-mentioned places and it shall stand prohibited with effect from January 1, 2017."
Right now, 60 percent of the plastic waste that pollutes our oceans comes from India. If the entire country of India would follow Delhi's example, this would have huge implications for oceans and environment around the entire world. We could actually begin the project of cleaning up our ecosystems and save future sea turtles, dolphins, and fish from death by plastic.

As you know, India is one of the worlds biggest producers of pollution. We are asking you to follow Dehli's example and ban disposable plastics for your entire country!
By doing this you will not only improve the problem of pollution, but you will also be setting an example for every country in the world.
