UTA's Centennial Court advertises on their website that, included in the monthly rental fee, "WiFi/High-Speed Internet" is provided as an amenity. This has been a lie on their part as these apartments have had no access the majority of the time, and when there is (by some stroke of luck) it's extremely slow and constantly disconnecting.
This issue has been occurring since May of last year and residents have had to endure TWO seasons of Finals Week without reliable internet. This has forced students to stay on campus to obtain internet until unsafe hours, just to do their work. It also cannot be emphasized enough how unsettling it is for young women on campus at 3, 4, 5 in the morning, but alas, these are the circumstances that Centennial Court has cornered their residents into. If they cannot supply the WiFi/internet that they advertise, than it's only right that they take $50-60 off resident's rent, and refund us from the previous months, so that we can buy it ourselves.
Sadly it has had to come to this as both the management of Centennial Court and so-called internet provider they use have only the same flimsy response to offer: that they're "working on it". Approaching EIGHT months of the issue still persisting, with only the same feeble excuse to provide us with, is unacceptable.
Reliable high speed internet is an absolute necessity as a college student, and if Centennial Court were to put their effort and funds into that rather than insignificant low-turnout events in their Clubhouse, that alone would boost our college experience.
