FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION At WCHS??
Everyday, people get judged for having piercings and tattoos. Have you noticed that they will judge someone for having a piercing other than their ears? It is completly ridiculous. So I'm writing this petition for WCHS students. Please sign if you think its crazy to be judged for having piercings or tattoos, its your body, and better yet; its your art, your expression.
As students at WCHS, our right to express ourself has been taken. Or right to express ourself freely as stated in the First Amendment. Freedom of Speech includes clothing and music. Hence forth saying that our piercings and tattoos are our art! It is the way we express ourselves, everyday we are encouraged at the WCHS to express ourselves and learn who we are or who we want to be. Most of the students there are expressing themselves; through tattoos and piercings! But when we do, we get judged and told to change who we are or we can't be there. I don't understand this at all, considering that ear piercings are allowed. Ear piercings are a form of body modification, I think we should be allowed to pierce our body as we feel necessary, and we should be able to permantly paint our bodies and express our body art! Its who we are! The following students and others have signed this petiton in hopes to show you just how much this subject of school rules has effected us. Thank you for your time of reading this.
