New Trier Township High School: Treat us like Human Beings.

Towards the end of every school year students get excited for the summer and beginning a new chapter in their lives; this is especially evident in graduating students. Some ways that New Trier seniors show their pride and enthusiasm is by dressing up for the last week of school, dancing with friends to uplifting music and just letting loose. Unfortunately, the administration and security staff see our acts of enthusiasm in a negative light and do anything in their power to put an end to our "shenanigans". This means that they have an abundance of security on every floor, on every stairwell, on high alert and with a zero-tolerance approach. They confiscate meaningly harmless personal, sometimes expensive items from the seniors (i.e. speakers, posters, sunglasses etc.). If they see any degree of "shenanigans" in pursuit, they threaten to take groups of 10-50 seniors to their office, eluding that punishment will follow.
All the seniors want is to enjoy their last moments of high school and celebrate their four years of very hard work.
All we ask is that you, as the administration, ease up on your security and allow us to have the celebration that we have rightfully earned.
