A Decomposing Dog. Puppies With Open Sores. This Farm Was Straight Out of a Horror Film.

Recently, authorities in Florida were anonymously tipped off to a farm where animals were potentially being neglected and abused. In reality, what they found felt straight out of a horror film.

A dead dog locked in a cage. Puppies with open wounds covered in fleas. A dog so starved, injured, and scared, it could barely move.

It is lucky that the anonymous tip came when it did, because some of these animals certainly wouldn't have survived for much longer. Rescuers called the whistleblowers "angels" for doing what they did.

Authorities discovered some sort of shepherd dog -- sweet breeds that are born to work, protect, and please their owners -- cowering under a tractor. The officers tried to get the dog to come out from under the machinery, but the poor thing was too weak from starvation and dehydration to move. They also remarked that it seemed to be in a great deal of pain.

They also found a dog named Gorda who was with her three puppies. Her poor babies were apparently covered in open sores and wounds, and swarms of fleas were eating away at them.

Tragically, they also found a dog that had already died. The poor pup was locked in a crate, its body already decomposing. Instead of bowls of food or water, the crate contained bowls filled with sand. This is a new low of animal cruelty.

All of the surviving animals have been brought to rescue facilities to heal through proper medical care and much needed love. And thankfully, their abuser has been arrested and charged.

But he has since been released on bail, and we must act quickly to make sure he is properly sentenced so that this can never happen again!
