Tulsa DA: File Felony Charges Against Man Seen Kicking and Dragging Two Dogs

Two dogs were allegedly kicked in the face and dragged by their leashes. Police say it was all caught on surveillance video.

On October 14, staff at the Eagle Suites extended-stay property in Tulsa found a loose dog and reviewed security footage. According to police, the video shows a man kicking both dogs in the face and dragging them by their leashes. One dog broke free. The other was allegedly whipped with its leash and dragged up a flight of stairs. Investigators say the dogs yelped and never acted aggressively toward him.

The man was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on animal cruelty counts and a firearm count after a prior felony conviction. Tulsa Animal Services now has both dogs. But as of the latest reports, formal charges had not yet been filed.

That decision belongs to Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler. I am asking him to file the full felony animal cruelty charges, to pursue the case without reducing them in a plea deal, and to ask the court to keep these dogs away from the man who allegedly hurt them.

The video exists. The dogs are safe for now. What happens next is a choice, and it can be made this week.

I run I Love Every Dog because I believe every dog deserves to be safe. Please sign and share so the District Attorney knows Tulsa is watching.

Sign to tell District Attorney Kunzweiler: file the felony charges, and do not let this case be quietly downgraded.
