Keep guns out of the classrooms!

President Trump has suggested arming teachers as a means of deterring gun violence in our schools. Teachers are not armed guards. Arming teachers would not lead to safer schools and it would change the tenor of the classroom. Teachers don't need guns, they need lawmakers who put their students' rights before a civilian's rights to an assault weapon, a weapons which has no place in a civilized society. Arming teachers with guns is a solution which uses the problem, which is guns, as the solution.
