ur village council is considering changing a piece of property 500' x 500' from Agriculture to Commercial. This property is located between two residential properties and across from the School. We believe this is spot zoning which is illegal and is not adjacent or contiguous to commercial property. The current property is residential/small business. Affected property owners have voiced their opposition and it seems to have fallen on deaf ears with no concern for the current adjacent property owners.
We also believe that a current council member should recuse themselves as they have a wind turbine lease with Apex
Clean Energy.
This Apex storage/maintenance building is more conducive to an industrial property out of the village. The proposed project is not appropriate for the ag property between two residences.
We ask that the council vote no on this zoning request. The revenue generated will be minimal compared to what the current landowner will be receiving.
