Protect Magnetic Island from dredging.

The Environmental Impact Assesment for the Port of Townsville Expansion in incomplete and ignores past experience of sediment transport and settling on Magnetic Island reefs from dredging operations.

The Qld Govt must have the sediment transport mechanisms fully examined before allowing any futher dredging.

Given the problems experienced in Gladstone, a thorough independant study on the health problems seen in fish stocks must be complete before similar works commence in Townsville.
