Protecting Our Animal's From Abuse

I would like to put an end to Animal Abuse. Not just in China but Internationally. There are serious problem taking place all around the world that deserve your attention, cruelty to animals is one that is commonly overlooked. I'm going to tell you how the animals are abuse for their fur. Some animals killed in the Chinese fur trade once loved companions. Millions of dogs and cats%u2014some still wearing collars%u2014are transported without food, shelter, or water, shoved into tiny metal crates, and stacked on trucks%u2014as many as 8,000 animals to a truck. When they arrive for slaughter, workers toss the crates of crying, terrified, and dying animals to the ground, a drop from as high as 10 feet that causes the animals%u2019 limbs to shatter as they crash to the ground. After they are killed and skinned, their fur is often deliberately mislabeled as fur from other species and exported to the U.S. to be sold to unsuspecting customers. China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States. Because a fur%u2019s origin can%u2019t be traced, anyone who wears any fur at all may actually be wearing the coat of a dog or cat and therefore shares the blame for the horrific conditions on Chinese fur farms. The only way to prevent such unimaginable cruelty is never to wear any fur. All animals have the same ability to feel pain in the same way and to the same degree that humans do. They feel pain, pleasure, fear, frustration, loneliness, and motherly love. People are happy when the circus comes to town. What fun it is for the Family to see all the wild life animals and watch them perform a show. But it is another form of animal cruelty. Animals don%u2019t voluntarily ride bicycles or jump through rings on fire; they do it because they%u2019re afraid not to. They suffer punishment and deprivation. Under cover footage shows elephants beaten with bull hooks and shocked with electric prods, big cats dragged by heavy chains around their neck and hit with wipes. These animals used for entertainment travel with the circus 25,000 miles as they tour across country for 11 months out of the year. They are locked up and confined to box cars and trailers for days at time. They also suffer extremely hot and cold weather, without access to food, water and veterinary care. In researching this information, it pains me to even discuss what goes on in animal research laboratories. This is an important distinction when talking about animal rights. Should animals have rights? %u201CYes%u201D Animals deserve to live their lives free from suffering and exploitations. Another act of cruelty is animals that are killed for their fur. It is legal in Canada to kill seal pup when they are about 12 days old. Canada%u2019s baby seal hunt is the largest slaughter of marine mammals on earth. During the hunt, baby seals are shot or repeatedly (clubbed with metal hooks on the ends) and drag the seals who are still conscious across the ice. An estimated 42 percent of the animals are skinned alive. The hunters toss dead and dying seals into heaps and leave their carcasses to rot on the ice floes because there is no market for seal meat. Investigators have found that the hunters routinely fail to comply with Canada%u2019s animal welfare standards. Anyone who wears fur whether it be rabbit, mink, fox or, any other kind of animal is responsible for creating a demand for fur. This in turn pushes Canadian hunters to club more seals each year. Fur is not a fashion; it is not a benefit to one nor needed to survive. Please put a stop to all forms of animal%u2019s abuse. Thank you

Respectfully Kathy Tessier
