Food donations for The WAY

The WAY has been picking up food donations from Kroger for over a year and Feed More made them stop. It was reported that The WAY was selling the food and Feed More called Kroger to remind them that they are under contract with Feed more and that all donated food belongs to Feed more. The WAY does not sell food donations, they uses the prepared food they get from Kroger to feed low income elderly. The reason it was reported that The Way was selling food was because The WAY has a mission sufficiency program called Prepared Food for you(like meals on wheels) where for $6.00 they will deliver a bag of food to a person in need. The $6.00 covers the cost for food containers, plastic bags, paper bags (items needed to break food down into smaller portions), insurance, gas and for the cost of a delivery person. No food is sold. The bag is filled with the donated food. The WAY does not get state or church support so the money made helps pay for things to help The WAY keep helping neighbors in need. We deliever to 15 low income elderly communities and the seniors rely on prepared food because most don't cook anymore and the bag of food contains enough food to get them through until the next bag is delivered (we deliever every 2 weeks).
Feed More wants to control all the grocery stores and the food that is donated. Since they stopped letting us pick up food donations the food is now thrown away. The WAY was picking up 4 days a week and that food was used to help a lot of people, now its thrown away because Feedmore has control over it. We were only getting prepared food, items Feedmore did not pick up.

I am hoping this petition will be enough to convince Kroger and other stores under Feedmore control to let other organizations to pick up donated food that Feedmore does not get.
