Background
On May 22, 2017, 7 PM at the City Council Chambers @ 3575 Pacific Ave, there will be a hearing and vote as to whether to raise these rates over the next few years. By 2020, THEY WILL INCREASE BY nearly $175 for residents! Businesses will also pay a significant increase.
Rate increases were already approved in 2015 by $31 a year starting July 8, 2015!
Residents are finding a great increase highly unacceptable (see posts on Nextdoor.com). If you agree, please SIGN AND ADD YOUR PARCEL NUMBER IN THE COMMENTS FIELD.
Your letter will be delivered to the City Clerk's office per instructions on the notice. We will also deliver signatures to the City Clerk and present them at the hearing. **You may also use the sample letter below and deliver it to the city clerks office by 5 PM on May 22 for more impact.

PETITION LETTER
As a Livermore resident or business and property owner, we are TIRED OF INCREASED RATES to our water, trash, and now Sewer Rates (through Property Taxes). Due to the enormous addition of new properties in the area, the City is already receiving a HUGE INCREASE IN PROPERTY TAXES.
As you know, Livermore already increased residential sewer service and use charges rise by $31 a year starting July 8, 2015.
WE DO NOT DESERVE HIGHER RATES TO allow you to increase your wages or compensate for lower income due to past drought months.
I/We, therefore, PROTEST THE RECENT INCREASED RATES PROPOSAL. DO NOT RAISE SEWER RATES AGAIN.
