Return "Tequila" by The Champs to the Band's Repertoire

Amendment 1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The song "Tequila" by The Champs is a 1958 record topping song in the U.S; it has been played and still is played by colleges and high schools around the world. To say that simply hearing the song played or the word "tequila" mentioned encourages alcohol is not only ridiculous, but a violation of the first amendment. The song in no way shape or form encourages the use of alcoholism but is used to rouse the crowd and has been for well over 60 years.

To say that a word being mentioned has the power to make students drink is not only spurious, but recommends that half of if not over half of the curriculum at LHS encourages dangerous action. Should you continue with this ban you are forcing unjustified censorship that in turn must apply to ALL of your educational functions.

The "ban" on the song "Tequila" should be lifted, and the signatures below represent the support and confirmation that the song in no way encourages alcoholism.
