Move Badgerland Council Cookie Sales back to Fall

  • da: Aimee Siegler
  • destinatario: Marci Henderson, CEO, Badgerland Council

The council created a group to determine how to deal with issues we had with last year's frustrating but highly successful cookie sale. Frustrating because it was the first year as a direct sale, but in spite of the many challenges, it was a record year for the Badgerland Council. On the western side of the state, where there are neighboring councils in Iowa and in Minnesota, fall cookie sales allowed us to sell cookies without having to compete. Plus, while February and October may have similar average temperatures, it is hard to pull a wagon through 6" of snow. Troops are already seeing girls and leaders quit, and hunters are complaining about not having warning - they didn't stock up on extras for this year's hunting. Cookie sales in the fall are something that has made Badgeland Council unqiue.

Are you frustrated with the change to a spring cookie sale? Please sign our petition addressed to the CEO of Badgerland, asking for the cookie sale to be moved back to fall. We don't need an app to track inventory, we need fall cookies to raise needed funds for our troops. Many troops have already committed the rest of their funds for this year to pay for events. A fall nut and magazine sale does not provide enough funding for a troop to pay for activities, pushing more of the financial burden to our families.
