Free Kris Maharaj

Kris Maharaj has spent 25 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. That includes 15 years on Death Row, before his sentence was reduced to life.

Mr. Maharaj is supported by the Reprive organisation and its director, lawyer and campaigner, Clive Stafford-Smith is convinced of his innocence. The truth is that the men that Mr. Maharaj supposedly killed were actually killed by Colombian drug lords. At the time of his sentencing Mr. Maharaj failed to hire a decent lawyer as he was convinced that the jury would see that the charges against him were ridiculous.

Many believe that the US justice system is biased against defendants. Politicians and prosecutors are driven by the pressure to deliver good conviction rates and witnesses can be coached.

Mr. Maharaj, who is in poor heath, deserves freedom. Join us in our call to Governor Scott for clemency. If you believe in justice and equality sign this petition.

Dear Governor Scott,

We the undersigned are writing to request that you free Kris Maharaj.

In 1986, Mr Maharaj was convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. He has since spent 25 years in prison, 15 of which on Death Row.

This man is a victim of the biased US justice system whereby defendants are not given the legal support that they deserve and the jury is too easily swayed by the prosecutors and their carefully coached witnesses.

This man is in poor heath and deserves to be freed. At the time of his trial is lawyer failed to bring forward witnesses who could provide him with an alibi and or show the links between the victims and violent drug traffickers.

Thank you for considering this request for clemency for Kris Maharaj.
