Over 250 British families will be facing the devastation of sudden unemployment if two of Britain's biggest recycling facilities close their doors. But that's exactly what could happen unless we act now.
The recycling industry has taken a hit worldwide because of the low cost of petroleum. Suddenly, making new plastic costs less than making plastic out of recyclables. As a consequence, the Farington Recycling Facility, which was brand new only nine years ago, has been slated for closure. Trash that was recycled there will now end up in smelly, space hogging landfills. Please join me in asking the UK parliament to stop the closure of the recycling plants and save the jobs associated with them.
