Ban the use of fireworks other than recognised public or religious celebrations.

Private firework displays are becoming more and more frequent and causing fear and trauma for our pets and our local wildlife.
Without any law to control this, people are letting off fireworks on any day or night and at any time with no consideration for neighbours, pets and our precious wildlife.
There are now more and more cases of dogs bolting while being walked when fireworks have gone off suddenly and scared them. Some of these cases have ended in tragedy where a dog has run into the road and been hit by a car.
We need to make private firework displays illegal and save them for legitimate and recognised occasions ONLY. At least this gives pet owners the chance to prepare and help their beloved cats, dogs, rabbits etc to get through the ordeal.
