Sacred Heart nurses strive every day to give the best care to their patients. We, the undersigned Sacred Heart staff members, call upon the administration to honor nurses' professionalism and address the chronic staffing shortages that put patients at risk. As dedicated professionals, nurses deserve the support of the administration to give the excellent care our patients expect. This means nurses deserve a contract that:
• Provides sufficient staffing to ensure nurses get their legally mandated meal/rest breaks so that nurses can provide their patients with the quality care they deserve
• Empowers nurses' voices in creating a safe and functional workplace
• Preserves 8-hour shifts as an option for nurses' changing life circumstances
• Has fair access to health insurance benefits and the HR support to understand their options
• Treats per diem nurses as valuable and equal members of the Sacred Heart team
• Recognizes and values the professional experience and dedication of the many charge nurses and coordinators who have provided excellent leadership within the
Medical Center and Home Care agency for many years
• Provides the education dollars necessary to maintain and advance their professional practice
