Stop the B.C. Wolf Cull!

The B.C. government has released a management plan for the province's population of grey wolves. The plan will allow hunters to continue killing wolves with few restrictions, and will hire government contractors to cull wolves in select areas where they pose a danger to livestock and caribou.

It is important to preserve endangered mountain caribou, but the government can use non-lethal methods to control wolves, such as relocation or barriers. Currently, 1,300 wolves are killed in B.C. each year out of a total population of 8,500.

The public has until December 5th to respond to the B.C. government's action plan. Please sign the petition to stand against B.C.'s wolf cull!

To: B.C. Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations

We, the undersigned are writing to voice our opposition to the B.C. government's recently released management plan for the province's population of grey wolves. We understand that the plan will allow hunters to continue killing wolves with few restrictions, and will hire government contractors to cull wolves in select areas where they pose a danger to livestock and caribou.

While we understand the importance of preserving endangered mountain caribou, we believe that the government can use non-lethal methods to control wolves, such as relocation or barriers. We are concerned that 1,300 wolves are killed in B.C. each year out of a total population of 8,500.

Please reconsider the current action plan proposal and instead focus on non-lethal wolf control. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
