Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy Producers: Pre-Screen Your Films to a Consent-Aware Sex Advocacy Group!

Fifty Shades of Grey has gained attention for bringing the world and lexicon of BDSM and kink to a mainstream audience, but not everyone has reacted positively to the message of the books and subsequent films.

BDSM is an exchange that is built on consent, trust, and communication between partners. Some argue that Fifty Shades of Grey distorts the message of BDSM into abuse, emotional manipulation, and a lack of negotiation. This narrative has dangerous repercussions for people's perceptions into what the BDSM community is really about, as well as how people should pursue and engage in sex-positive behavior.

Fifty Shades of Grey's film sequels - Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed are planned to be released in early 2017 and early 2018.

While we can't change the content of the books, we can insist that the movies be screened by a sex-positive, kink-friendly and consent-aware organization so that they may offer feedback and editorial review of the depictions of BDSM within the film.

Join me in insisting that the remaining films of the Fifty Shades trilogy be pre-screened by a kink-positive organization.
