Enough is enough. We can ban guns but it wont stop people from having them. We as adults can protect Americas most valued treasures at the places they spend most of their days by putting metal detectors in all schools. Right now all schools have safety protocols for situations like the one from 12/14/12 in Connecticut. We all want to believe our world is safe, that our children are safe. Right now our best methods for keeping our children safe from the unstable and armed were the same used at the elementary in Connecticut. The best we can do can get better by stopping the armed before they can even get close to our children. They have metal detectors in almost every government building to protect primarily adults. Our children are too young to sign this petition but I know 20 innocent children who lost their lives today that would have voted to protect themselves and sign this petition if they could. We as adults must not give up and be the voice of those children that were lost. Change starts with a signature, change starts with you. Or will you wait until it is one of your own? Sign this petition now. Let Texas set the standard and hopefully inspire other states to do the same. Children matter most, tell them by signing this petition. If metal detectors save just one child, your simple signature is more than worth it!
