Poor people with pets should not have to consider abandoning them out of lack of resources to feed what should be friends that are like family members. The federal food stamp program does not currently allow impovererished persons to purchase pet food for their furry friends. This needs to change instantly.
Dear Animal Lovers:
There are more unwanted animals on the planet than I care to count, personally. And yet, for so many others, the rich and poor aalike, pets make a home. Currently, the Federal Food Stamp Program does not allow the purchase of pet food. But that same poor person who needs food stamps to cover the cost of food for him or herself might very well have a pet at home that needs food just as desperately as the person does.
Please help poor people keep their pets as healthy as tthemselves and not have to consider the possibility of abandoning them due to lack of funds to maintain them properly. Immediately add the ooption of purchasing pet food to the Federal Food Stamp Program so that the poor can keep their pets, too!
