Every American Deserves Access to Parks and Open Spaces Because #ParksUniteUs

Parks have always been our common ground, but during the pandemic, they became a lifeline — for exercising, unwinding, and connecting with those we love … even at six feet apart.

Many Americans can walk out their front door and within 10 minutes, be in a high-quality park. However, sadly there are also 100 million people — including 28 million kids — who can't do that.

The Trust for Public Land has a plan to connect more people to more parks. We'll give more communities more access to green spaces as we conserve 1 million acres of land, protect 1,000 miles of rivers, and connect or build 1,000 miles of trails across America by 2025. But 2021 is here, and we have a lot of ground to cover in a short time.

We're working to give everyone a quality outdoor space and bring nature into communities that don't have it, and we need your help.

Support our #ParksUniteUs campaign and send a clear message to our elected leaders — even in these divided times parks unite us, and it is on US to unite for parks.

Your signed petitions will let President Biden know that you believe access to parks and open space is a fundamental right of every American. We're working to give everyone a quality outdoor space and bring nature into communities that don't have it, and we need your help.

RE: #ParksUniteUs, and It's on US to Unite for Parks

President Biden,

Parks unite us, and access to parks and open space is a fundamental right of every American. Yet 100 million people — including 28 million kids — don't have a park within a 10-minute walk of home. But great parks don't just happen. They're created when all of us stand up for what every community needs and deserves. I pledge to help communities across the country to transform neglected spaces into shared community assets, and to expand access to national and state parks, forests, waterways, and trails that power local economies and preserve a healthy natural environment, and I urge you to make this a priority during your first year in office.

Thank you,
