Tell Congress: Reject cuts and increase funding for cancer research to spur progress

Cancer research is delivering lifesaving breakthroughs, treatments, and cures, but progress depends on consistent federal investment.

Only a small fraction of new ideas for ways to prevent cancer, methods to treat the disease, and cures get the funding they need to move forward. Too many ideas that have the potential to save lives are left on the table because there simply isn't enough funding to support them.

When we stand still, cancer keeps moving forward. It keeps affecting more lives, leaving patients waiting for answers.

In 2026, there are 5,790 new cancer diagnoses and 1,720 deaths from cancer in the U.S. every single day.

Members of Congress are working right now on their next funding bill. Make sure they know where you stand.

Sign the petition now to tell Congress: cancer patients and families cannot wait. Reject any proposed cuts and increase cancer research funding in this year's budget bill to continue to spur progress in the fight against cancer.
As a constituent, I urge you to increase funding for lifesaving cancer research in the FY27 appropriations bill. The necessary funding is $51.3 billion for the NIH and $7.99 billion for NCI.

This year, 2.1 million people in America will hear the words, "you have cancer." Chances are someone close to you is facing a cancer diagnosis. Cancer impacts us all, and the only way to fight it is to come together. Congress must work in a bipartisan manner to increase funding for cancer research and help save more lives.

Currently, only a fraction of new ideas for ways to prevent cancer, methods to treat the disease and cures get the funding they need to move forward. Too many ideas that have the potential to save lives are left on the table because there simply isn't enough funding to support them.

When Congress funds research, America fights cancer together. Now is the time to take our can-do ingenuity and recommit it to the fight against cancer through expanded, year-over-year investments in research.

Progress is possible in the fight against cancer, but it's not guaranteed. That's why we need your support to increase funding for cancer research in the FY27 appropriations bill.
