Hundreds Are Dead, Thousands More Injured or Missing, After Two Massive Earthquakes Ripped Through Venezuela

As of the time of this writing, 589 people have been killed and thousands injured in a series of devastating, back-to-back earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Wednesday. Both earthquakes were above 7 magnitude.

The stories coming out of Venezuela are heartbreaking and harrowing.

Families are actively searching for missing family members, posting flyers with names and photos everywhere. People cannot get through to friends as cell phone service remains largely interrupted, creating confusion and panic.

Neighbors are digging through rubble in their own backyards, searching for survivors or bodies to bring back to loved ones. People can be seen signaling for help under rubble, but without machinery and rescue teams present everywhere, onlookers can do little to save them.

Venezuela needs our help.

Sign the petition to demand that the United States continues to provide aid until all survivors are found, the injured have been treated, and the country's infrastructure rebuilt!

Since September of 2025, the United States has been actively destabilizing Venezuela. It began with claims that Venezuela was a hub for narcotics drug trafficking; then, the airstrikes on boats began. Without showing any verifiable proof that these vessels were involved in drug trafficking, the Trump administration began dropping bombs, killing upwards of 110 people.

The violence peaked on January 3rd, when the U.S. bombed the capital city of Venezuela, abducted its sitting president, and claimed it would take over and "run the country," namely seeking to control the country's booming oil industry.

It is the absolute least the United States can do to pledge every bit it can to aid Venezuela's recovery after these devastating earthquakes.

So far, the United States has pledged $150 million in aid, plus military and search-and-rescue team relief. But we cannot stop there.

The true scope of the devastation is yet to be determined, and the United States must stay steadfast in its commitment to help save, recover, and rebuild.

Sign the petition and tell President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to put diplomacy first, and help Venezuela recover!
