Congress: Protect American Workers, Farms and Communities
America has a proud heritage of growing, building and inventing. But today, millions of Americans - craftsmen, farmers, engineers, professionals and college graduates - cannot find work. Now, Congress is trying to pass legislation that will make things worse, leaving more Americans struggling to find work.
Congress is moving quickly to pass the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, legislation that will undercut our families and communities, only to send more American jobs to overworked, underpaid workers overseas.
Americans need jobs. Twenty-six million Americans are unemployed or underemployed. Looking at short-term profit and ignoring the long-term cost to our nation, Wall Street has encouraged companies to move jobs and farms out of the USA to low-wage foreign countries.
Tell your congressman today to say NO to legislation that will hurt our communities and leave even more American workers unemployed.
Dear [Representative],
Millions of Americans cannot find work. Politicians cannot claim to support American jobs, farms and businesses while they vote for trade agreements that encourage the exporting of American jobs.
[Your comments will be added here]I am asking you as my elected representative in Congress to oppose trade policies that reward companies to outsource American jobs instead of investing in the United States. A good beginning is to vote NO on the Korea Free Trade Agreement and publicly voice your opposition.
