Attend Monday night's board meeting and show your support it will make a difference This facility will add to the already terrible traffic issues on route 126 and greatly effect the residential neighborhood it would be operating in. The Islamic foundation of the southwest suburbs will be operating 7 days a week. This Islamic foundation building would back to home owners and only has one exit onto a street of home owners. The members of the Islamic foundation would be exiting onto ash street many times throughout the day, 7 days a week . This street is in a small residential neighborhood with no sidewalks. This area has no traffic signals to aid in the potential increases in traffic. A traffic survey was completed and the report was not favorable, it did not even take into effect the school and bus traffic, or increase in trains that back up 126 for miles. This land is zoned residential for a reason and the Plainfield neighborhood would like to see it kept that way. This not only will affect market resale value of home owners it will also disrupt the neighbors lives.
Islamic Center of the Southwest Suburbs aka The Plainfield Community Center wants to have their current special use permit transferred to this property. Vote no.
