Tell Kimberly -Clark To Stop Flushing our Boreal Forests.

Currently, less than 19 percent of the pulp Kimberly-Clark uses for tissue products is recycled, none used for Kleenex® products. Much of the pulp is from North America’s boreal forests, often called the “Amazon of the North,” represents 25 percent of the world’s remaining ancient forests. Thirty percent of North America’s land birds and 40 percent of its waterfowl depend on this forest and its wetlands.
Dear Mr Falk.

As a consumer of paper products, I find myself very concerned that
Kimberly Clark is taking the wood necessary for their products by destroying the ancient forests, to produce disposables such as Kleenex and toilet tissue.

It has taken many thousands of years for the boreal forests to evolve, and many animals are provided natural habitat from it.

Caribou, wolves, elk, eagles and nearly a third of the songbirds of America require its shelter.
It is not acceptable practice to destroy ancient forests, in fact entire ecosystems, to produce a product which is disposed of often without recycling.
Many other companies have agreed not to source wood products acquired from ancient forests.
It is our hope that you will follow suit, and to that end, increase the amount of recucled fiber that is used in the tissue products made by your company.

Please make a commitment to protect the earth which supplies your company with its raw materials.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
