Take Action Against Mason Wixon, Of Louisiana, For Decapitating A 200 Year Old Endangered Turtle!

Mason Wixon, from Cottonwood, Louisiana, thought it would be a funny idea to destroy a 200-year old animal then later brag about his actions on social media. He posed with an alligator snapping turtle with a big smile on his face and giving the audience the thumb up.

When he was confronted by several concerned citizens, he openly admitted to destroying the turtle using a saw and eating it for dinner. He also said that ‘this is how they live their life in Louisiana’ and no one should have a problem with that.

However, many people do! Since these beautiful creatures are protected and what this man did, besides being unethical, is also against the law.

The Alligator Snapping Turtle is protected as a State Species of Special Concern by Endangered and Threatened Species Rules. Scientists say the species is even more imperiled than originally thought.

Local authorities need to take swift action and against this man. He cannot be allowed to get away with it. Speak up for that turtle and sign the petition now!
