11-year-old Raniel had one simple wish: to play with his friends without risking heart failure. Like so many children with congenital heart disease, Raniel waited many years for a surgery that his parents simply could not afford.

With the help of AmeriCares, Raniel was able to get his life-changing surgery and can finally play with his friends.

The AmeriCares Medical Outreach Program provides crucial supplies to skilled volunteer medical teams traveling to countries where basic health care is unavailable. Each year, we support 1,000+ medical outreach trips, with medications and surgical supplies -- saving lives in more than 80 countries.

As a result of our work, children like Raniel get a second chance at life and are able to enjoy simple pleasures that we often take for granted.
