Tell Congress: NO Drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Right now, the Trump administration and Republican leaders in Congress are moving to open the Arctic Refuge to oil and gas drilling – which would force extreme damage on this sacred and pristine place. Even worse: They’re planning to attach this to their tax bill – essentially packaging drilling in the Arctic Refuge with tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires, and corporations.
We must stop Congress from handing over the Arctic Refuge to the fossil fuel industry. Republicans are moving fast to pass this bill before the end of the year, so we need you to contact Congress today.
As a constituent in your district, I am writing to urge you to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska and ensure that drilling for oil in this sensitive landscape is not included in the tax and budget process.
The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of our nation’s most iconic wild areas and critical for the survival of many Alaska Native people, including the Gwich’in Nation. The Arctic Refuge deserves our most enduring protections.
Drilling here would devastate the ecosystem. I urge you to do all you can to enact the strongest possible protections for the Arctic Refuge landscape, its wildlife, and its people.
