Honor the Sacrifices of the Civil War
We are observing the 150th anniversary of the deadliest war in American history: the Civil War. More than 618,000 Americans lost their lives in farm fields and orchards that are rapidly being lost to new highways and suburban sprawl. During this important anniversary, you can do your part to thank those Americans for their sacrifice by asking your Congressional representatives to help protect the lands they fought and died for.
Bills in Congress would protect additional battlefield lands at Gettysburg, Petersburg and Vicksburg, and create new parks to honor the fallen soldiers at the Battle of Mill Springs, KY and to protect the legacy of one of America's greatest heroes, Harriet Tubman. Please ask Congress to enact these bills and use this important anniversary to thank those who made America the nation it is today.

During this, the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, you can honor their sacrifice of those brave men by better preserving hallowed ground.
Please co-sponsor legislation that would add core battlefield land to
Gettysburg NMP (S. 1897, H.R. 1335),
Vicksburg NMP (S. 265, H.R. 2083),
Petersburg NB (S. 713, H.R. 1296), and bills that would establish new sites to honor the
Battle of Mill Springs, KY (H.R. 3792) and one of our countrys greatest heroes,
Harriet Tubman (S. 247).
