The Forest Service encourages corporate plunder of our public land. They MUST be stopped!
Nearly every Forest Service project is designed to allow a corporate contractor to make money ... at the expense of the publicly owned ecosystems. Each Forest Service project undergoes an environmental analysis. This analysis is done by either: 1) biased USFS employees, or 2) NEPA contractors who have financial interest in making sure the project proceeds to implementation.
I know this is true. I am ashamed to say that I spent the best 30 years of my life working for the U.S. Forest Service. I saw this every day from the inside.
To stop this corruption, there must be an environmental review of all projects. This environmental effects review MUST be done by an unbiased group of experienced ecologists ... and the Forest Service MUST abide by the recommendations of these ecologists.
Petition signers agree to demand that the U.S. Forest Service change their policy to include the following:
The U.S. Forest Service will never implement any project (large or small) without the concurrence of a group of independent, unbiased ecologists that the pending project has no chance to harm any natural resources ... in the short or long term.
