New Yorkers for a Fair Income Tax

Currently, New York State has essentially a Flat Tax.  A single person earning $20,000 taxable income pays the same 6.8% rate as the person earning $2,000,000.  During the last several decades, the wealthiest among us have had their tax rate lowered by 50%.  The result has been increasing deficits and decreasing services.  Please help reverse this trend and get New York "back on track" by signing the petition below.

We, the undersigned, call upon the Governor and the Legislature of NY State to pass a fair tax on New Yorkers earning $250,000 or more a year.  To ask our wealthier fellow citizens to carry a little more of the burden, especially in these extremely tough economic times, would help to reduce the cuts to education, health care and other vital services so important to all New Yorkers.
