End Ordinances Regulating the Number of Pets

As a professional Dog Trainer and working with dog rescues I often have many dogs that come and go in my care. Due to certain circumstances I have recently moved to my mothers home in Lake Luzerne, NY for a while. I have since been told that it is not allowed in this town to house more than 4 dogs in one household. My mother has 3 dogs of her own. I currently have many dogs in my care, 3 of them rescues that would have otherwise been put to sleep due to lack of space. With no place for them to go I find myself starting this petition to end this Dog Ordinance or compromise with some sort of agreement that I am allowed to continue helping dogs. This ordinance is unfair and unconstitutional. I have many sites listed below that also state their views on this subject and give very valid points as to why this law should not be specific to no one housing more than 4 dogs in the town of Lake Luzerne. There are better ways to deal with problems with dogs. The dogs I have do not cause any nuisance and if they ever did it would be taken care of immediately. How can someone limit the number of pets on the property we own that is well kept, what is next limiting the number of children you are allowed to have? This law is causing more pets to be homeless!

We the undersigned believe Julie Cattabiani of Every Dog Has Its Day Ltd and the other residents of Lake Luzerne, NY should be allowed to house more than 4 dogs in their homes. Julie is saving dogs lives and helping rehabilitate dogs that would have otherwise been put to sleep. As long as all dogs are clean and well kept with as little nuisance as possible. Julie is more than willing to do more if necessary to be able to continue her efforts. This ordinance is unfair and unconstitutional. People who are irresponsible and don't properly care for their animals should be limited, not the ones that are saving lives and working hard to help dogs.
