Foster City, CA 94404- SAVE the LAST of our PUBLIC LAND from Private Residences only!

****JOIN THOUSANDS of us FOSTER CITY, California RESIDENTS in saving The LAST 15-acres of our Public Land - now zoned for education (originally 25 acres- part leased to PJCC - no longer open to the public).

***- THIS LAND BELONGS EQUALLY to ALL Foster City residents,  (who are United States citizens, California, 94404) - but, is being   ***REZONED, (part sold) and LEASED for ***(3) THREE PRIVATE RESIDENCE TOWERS of (10, 14 & 14) 14 stories tall, plus affordable housing and a medical center, ALL SERVING SENIOR ASSISTED LIVING ONLY. Of course we agree to have senior housing that serves our residents, (the towers will be $ expensive!),  but NOT ALL ON PUBLIC LAND.

****We're losing our LAST CHANCE for PUBLIC ACCESS - ON PUBLIC LAND, or even a small high school to serve our kids and increase our home values. We will have the largest population of high school students of any city in the United States that doesn't have it's own high school. Plus, the city doesn't have enough appropriate seinors to fill these towers.
Also, our city just completed building many other potential senior units such as the Miramar residences in town.

*****WHY aren't our CITY OFFICIALS (COUNCIL) putting these private residences - serving only a few people - onto PRIVATE LAND, where they belong? The PEOPLE OF FOSTER CITY specifically VOTED AGAINST USING PUBLIC LAND FOR RESIDENCES as clearly evidenced by the public opinion survey sent to all city residents in 2006. See detailed reports from July 18, 2006 at http://www.fostercity.org/.

*****These towers will be the largest / tallest buildings in our city, next to the Metro Center Tower on the commercial side of town, only now built in our residential area. And, they won't be open to, or serving the public at all.
****This is MISUSE and MISAPPROPRIATION of PUBLIC LAND.****At the same time, our city officials are approving some 24 new buildings in town, and these residences can go ANYWHERE ELSE including newly rezoned areas for housing.

****THE FOLLOWING citizens and residents of Foster City INSIST, as is our legal right,  that our CITY COUNCIL make decisions regarding public land in accordance with WHAT THE RESIDENTS WANT. Should the city officials NOT wish to follow the survey results of 2006, we would be most happy to have them SEND OUT A NEW and appropriate SURVEY to our residents, then follow the dictates set forth.

*****PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITIION NOW to give yourself a VOICE REGARDING THE LAST OF YOUR PUBLIC LAND.  We went through similar problems 30 years ago with builder, Centex. PLEASE REMEMER, THE PEOPLE WON then, and we'll prevail again, - the law is on our side. DON'T LET BIG BUILDERS PUSH US OUT OF OUR TOWN.

To: Foster City Officials, Council Members, Staff and Planning Commissioners,
City Hall, Foster City Blvd., Foster City, CA 94404

We the undersigned residents of Foster City CA, (and United States citizens of legal age) respectfully ask our City Officials to:
     a) NOT rezone our 15-acres of public land, and,
     b) NOT lease this land to private developers for private residence towers.
We wish to maintain our public land for it's original public usage.

Thank you,
