Protect the Eagles' Nests

This Petition is established to encourage the Lee County, Florida Commissioners to join the City of Bonita Springs in appealing a state decision that would allow construction by The Bonita Bay Group within 300 feet of a 30 year-old Bald Eagle's nest.

This state ruling, if not overturned, could set a dangerous precedent limiting the amount of protection the county could provide for the eagles.

In addition to their value as a species, these eagles, along with all Florida wildlife create an environment that attracts tourism dollars.

This Petition is submitted to encourage you to join the City of Bonita Springs in appealing the state decision allowing construction by The Bonita Bay Group in close proximity to the Bald Eagle's nest.  All of the signatories thank you in advance for your support.
