Stop The Metering Of Privite Water Wells
To STOP the metering of privite water wells and the associated expense involved. This simply cost the rural working class more money and fees they do not have and does very little to curb water usage in rural areas.
ATTENTION WATER WELL OWNERS:
To all water well owners, and others that are interested in preserving our freedom. If you do not have a water well this notice may still interest you, because the Texas government will most likely regulate something in the near future that will affect you. Fight for all your freedoms or lose them one at a time! The Texas Government has decreed that ground water is an endangered resource. Our Texas representatives passed laws to allow the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District (LSGCD) to be created and gave them power to regulate your water. At this time, all personal water wells in Montgomery County, Texas that supply more than one residence must have an operating permit and a meter has to be installed, so you can be billed for the water you pump. You will have to pay for the permits and for the meter to be installed. The Woodlands uses approximately 25 million gallons of water daily. The effort is to make individuals conserve water, so that there will be enough for the Woodlands residents to water their lawns. Even if you simply supply water to your children on your property, you will have to comply with this regulation! I have been told, that eventually all private water wells will have to be regulated. It looks like it will cost me about $1,000.00 to get authorization to pump water from my own well that is about 40 years old. The combined budget for LSGCD so far is $2,788,922.88 plus the proposed budget for 2006 is $1,036,882.00. This is a grand total of $3,825,744.88. Nothing has been accomplished so far except studies, forecasts and regulations. They forecast the budget to continue to increase over time. If this concerns you please contact your Texas State Representative and the LSGCD (936) 441-3437 or (936) 494-3436 and express yourself!
