PETITION TO REGISTER THE OBJECTIONS TO THE WORD "MODERN" BEING INCORPORATED INTO THE NAME OF OUR AHA
We, the undersigned, are owners, breeders, riders, trainers and avid supporters of the Arabian Horse Breed and our Arabian Horse Association organization and, as such, are sincerely and deeply dedicated to the preservation of the Purebred Arabian Horse which heavily influences our Half/Anglo Arabians and is the progenitor of all of the rest of today's light-horse riding breeds. This petition references our AHA-Magazine name which was changed last spring to include the word "Modern," and said name-change subject is mandated by motion passed at the May, 2007, AHA Directors' meeting to be re-addressed at the upcoming March, 2008, AHA Board of Directors' meeting. The undersigned hereby respectfully, but strongly, request that all AHA Directors and officers of the Executive Committee vote to rescind this name change and return to the previous name of Arabian Horse Magazine at this meeting. It is our very strong position that the word "Modern" is not only an insult to the rich history of our Arabian horse which has been celebrated for centuries, but is also a very destructive term when introduced to new people coming into the breed who have no knowledge of this breed's history and contribution to the entire equine world.
