Broadway Park proposal
PETITION for: Broadway Park & Community Garden (Located at corner of Broadway & Carr Ave)
As a Community, please support us in our Petition to the City of Homewood in acquiring the Heeter Lot (800 Saulter Rd), the Evans Lot (corner “Short” Saulter Rd & Carr Ave) & the DiChiara Lot (“The Island” on Broadway), to develop into Broadway Park & Community Garden. The Master Plan would also include straightening out Carr Ave into Broadway, & Cul-de-Sac “Short” Saulter Rd, as noted in the rendering.
This Area would make for an EXCELLENT opportunity for the City of Homewood in expanding our Exceptional Park & Recreational Facilities. In addition to creating valuable green space for our Community, Families & Social gatherings, it would also give us Safe walking, jogging, exercise & recreational areas, Picnic at the Park, Gardening, etc., all in an effort to assist us in developing a more quality, balanced & healthy lifestyle.
As with our Green Way, we believe the Benefits & Impact to our City, Community & Citizens would be Unlimited. In addition to the Social Growth, Health & Recreational Benefits that our Park & Garden would render to us, we also believe it would assist in stabilizing & growing our property values for the long-term, along with reducing the unnecessary traffic flow on “Short” Saulter Rd.
Our Community, along with the local restaurants, schools, community kitchens, etc. could benefit from the Fresh Organic Vegetables produced from our Garden. It would also make as an excellent Host for a wide variety of Events & Field Trips for our local schools, colleges, retirement communities, businesses, athletic & academic programs, & other quality institutions in our area.
Again, we believe this to be an EXCELLENT opportunity in expanding our Exceptional Park & Recreational Facilities, along with bringing a WIN-WIN-WIN to our City, Community & Citizens.
