Canada has an abysmal record when it comes to the prosecution and conviction of sex traffickers and tourists.
According to the Vancouver Sun, Canada enforces its law but does not have a strong national plan or a strong authoritative team to investigate and prosecute as many sex traffickers and sex tourists as it should.
The Vancouver Sun also states that Canada's conviction problems also stem from prosecutors and judges who are not willing to charge sex traffickers.
This lack of coordination and action by Canadian authorities is unacceptable. It's allowing a large number of sex traffickers and sex tourists to walk away after being caught red handed.
This is also placing more people at risk for sex slavery.
Tell the Prime Minister of Canada that this is unacceptable and more sex traffickers and sex tourists must be prosecuted and sentenced.
We the undersigned demand that more sex traffickers and sex tourists be punished and convicted for their crimes. Those found guilty of such crimes must be given lengthy sentences in order to deter them as well as others from participating in such heinous crimes. Although Canada has a good reputation for enforcing anti- trafficking laws, it does not have a good reputation for convicting those found guilty of trafficking. This must end as those who are not punished for their crimes will be more likely to become repeat offenders. This will put more people at risk for being victimized.
The Canadian government and authorities should do everything it can to protect its citizens from sex traffickers and sex tourists. Please prosecute every person who breaks trafficking laws as they need to be given consequences. Give the victims of sex slavery the justice they deserve.
