Save Our Home Options

This is a subject that is near and dear to me.

I am a single mother with five children.  My two older children no longer live at home but their siblings ages 12, 10 and 9 still live at home and I am responsible for their welfare.

We are currently at risk of losing our home and I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO US.

I am a licensed real estate agent and shifted gears a couple of years ago when the real estate market started to first show a decline.  I knew I needed to start looking for something else to help pay the bills if the real estate market continued to be in distress.

When I still had some money in the bank, I started working on a new web site project, i-gocity.com, with a couple of business associates and we have been trying to get the project off the ground which has been difficult due to the downturn in the economy.

I personally started struggling financially at the beginning of 2007 and was no longer able to make my mortgage payment that had just increased from $1700 to $2200 per month due to property taxes and a huge increase in Florida homeowners insurance.  My mortgage was a 30-year fixed rate and yet my monthly payment just increased over $500 a month.  I was really struggling at this point and made a decision to leave our home and move in with my oldest daughter in Daytona Beach, FL.

Foreclosure was looking us straight in the eye and in November of 2007 I was served with foreclosure papers.  Oddly enough, I still own my home as the bank has not taken over the property yet.

During the past 5 months I have struggled to keep i-gocity.com moving forward while trying to secure some type of employment.  I have completed over 40 online applications from various job sites.

During this time, I have also had alot of time to think about the decision I made up-rooting my family.  It is not right.  This should not happen to anyone.  How did this happen to me?  To us?

In March of 2008, I decided to contact the bank to see what my options were regarding the possibility of keeping my home.   After speaking with the bank, I realized more that ever that they are not in a position to truly work with me.  Both options they suggested, a loan restructure or repayment plan, both increased my payment.  Funny thing is, the closer the foreclosure process is getting, the more I want to keep my home.

I have never been a quiter and I am not giving up.  I know who I have on my side and that means "all things are possible".

I am the CEO of i-gocity.com which is the web site project I described above.  I believe in i-gocity.com and view it as a benefit to billions of people.  I have faith in God and know that he will guide me every step of the way.  I know that I am not alone and there is a reason he placed this project in my heart.

i-gocity.com received over 2 million total hits in 2007 so I am hoping it continues to serve as a resource and will reach and continue to benefit people.

SAVE OUR HOMES!

If you don't want to lose your home, please sign this petition.  We want the leaders of our great country to know that we want to SAVE OUR HOMES.

We need our leadership to place their feet in our shoes.  They need to see what it is like from the perspective of a lower to middle class citizen before they can truly present viable options.  We are Americans who believe in our government and got caught up in its lending practices.  No one saw it coming until it was too late and this petition is not to cast blame.

We are asking for the government to work harder and quicker to help  SAVE OUR HOMES!  We are asking for options that will work for the people who truly want to keep their homes.

Many ideas have been discussed but they are not working.  With every day that passes more time goes by that nothing is done and more people are at risk.

Foreclosure is at my front door.  What can I do?  How long do I have?

I currently bring in enough money to make a $1200 a month mortgage payment and I asked the bank what would happen if I mailed in that amount every month.  I was told that I could not do that because that was not the payment I agreed to.

I am not sure what the answer is but I know I am not alone when I ask; Help Us Save Our Homes!

If you are in a similar situation, please help by signing the petition and letting others know about it.

Thank you for your support.
We the undersigned would like to see "our homes saved".

We need the government's help quickly.  We need viable options designed to help Americans that are in jeopardy of losing their homes.

Thank you for taking the time to read my petition.
