Independent musicians deserve the right to share original music through their own broadcasting outlets (radio and television stations). They deserve the freedom to share their unique talents in a forum that is free from mainstream influence. I believe that Indies should be heard, and I sign this petition to show my support of the worldwide movement that puts power and resources back into the hands of the actual artists.
We, the undersigned, find that extremely talented independent musicians exist in lands near and far. We either represent this group of talented individuals, directly, or we know them as our family, friends, co-workers, and next door neighbors.
It is apparent to us that independent musicians do not receive fair opportunities for exposure. We have, therefore, decided to take matters into our own hands.
We are joining forces to create our own broadcast media outlets (television and radio stations). We are creating an environment that is welcoming to peoples of various nationalities and ethnicities. When determining an artist's level of success, we are decidedly placing the emphasis on his/her level of talent, above all other factors.
As a unit, we express our dissatisfaction with the manner in which independent musicians are treated. We vow to support the efforts of this movement and are committed to seeing these goals come to fruition.
