Between 2006 and 2008, over 300 people in the Mt. Elgon region of Kenya completely disappeared. Human Rights Watch states that they were either arrested by government forces or taken by a rebel militia group.
To this day, nothing has been done to investigate or find out what happened to these innocent people. Their families are left not knowing and their communities were left with no answers. This has allowed those who took them to get away with multiple crimes as the disappeared have faced an unknown and uncertain end.
Please tell the Kenyan government and the International Criminal Court that there needs to be an investigation into this sad and terrifying experience. Tell them that they must give the people and their families closure by finding out the truth and bringing those responsible to justice.
We the undersigned sincerely ask the Kenyan government and the International Criminal Court to investigate the forced disappearances of over 300 people in the Mt. Elgon region between 2006 and 2008. This event has torn families and communities apart as they have been given absolutely no information on what happened to those who disappeared. As time is passing and nothing is being done, we ask that you, leaders of the Kenyan people and leaders of the international justice system respectively, use your power and influence to help discover the truth to bring these families peace and justice.
