Stop New York Times Biased Israel Coverage

A recent op-ed piece by Nicholas Kristof on June 19th, http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/19/opinion/19kristof.html, implied that Israel does not provide emergency medical care for residents of the Gaza Strip. The Save a Child's Heart Foundation, www.saveachildsheartus.org, based in Israel has been providing lifesaving heart surgery for children from Gaza on an ongoing basis for more than 10 years. Even while rockets were being fired from Gaza into Israel this year and last year, children were allowed to cross the border for cardiac surgery provided by the volunteer doctors from Save a Child's Heart. Please sign the petition asking the New York Times for objective coverage of news from Israel.
In "Strengthening Extremists" on June 19th Nicholas Kristof implied that Israel does not allow Palestinians to leave Gaza for medical emergencies. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Save a Child's Heart Foundation (SACH)  based in Tel Aviv has been saving Gazan children suffering from heart problems on a regular basis since 1996. In 2007 SACH treated 250 Gazan children. There are Gazan children being treated at SACH facilities in Israel right now. The level of rocket fire from Gaza into Israel has sometimes caused delays for Palestinians seeking medical care in Israel. However, Save a Child's Heart has continued to bring children into Israel for treatment, although, at times, at reduced capacity. There is a six month waiting list of Palestinian children who need heart surgery. The reason is not political; it's financial. Save a Child's Heart simply needs more money in order to save more children. In the future, please check the facts instead of making them up. And, please print a retraction of Mr. Kristof's misinformation. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
